Ukrainian Holocaust.org           75th Anniversary of Genocide
New Documentary
According to the Ukrainian News, a new documentary titled "Genocide revealed" will be expected from award winning, Montreal film-maker and member of the Canadian Film and Television Academy Yuri Luhovy. The film interviews various experts and historians and survivors of the Stalin induced famine.

The film is scheduled to be released November 2008, and is endorsed by a number of groups including the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Federation.

The film will serve as a educational resource for courses in genocide studies in Canadian and American schools and universities.

Mr. Luhovy recently received the Presidential Order of Ukraine for his accomplishments.

Many Ukrainians in Canada were the subject of internment by the government of Canada during the period 1914-1920. This began at the start of the First World War as part of the War Measures Act. The director mentioned above also produced a film on this little known event. It appears the Canadian Government has yet to compensate the families of these victims and more information may be found at the following links:
